Coloured Open Tray/Shelf Unit Beech/Red Adjustable Shelves
A tray/shelf combination unit is an extremely practical storage solution
allowing items to be stored in the way that is most convenient for retrieval
privacy
or organisation. Designed for use by teachers and students alike
it can be used to store stationery
worksheets
books and other resources that don’t fit anywhere else in the classroom. The height of this unit allows primary school aged children to reach each compartment without difficulty.
Design
The economical 2-in-1 design is comprised of a single column of 7 trays
and a shelving column with three shelving compartments (two adjustable shelves and a base panel). Combining these popular classroom essentials in one unit helps to not only save money
but to keep related items together to reduce confusion when rearranging furniture.
The shelves can be adjusted to multiple heights within the unit
allowing you to optimise space based on your requirements. You can choose to use both shelves
one shelf or no shelves at all if you need to store larger items in this section
removing the limitations that other shelving units often cause. Shelves of course are most commonly used for books
but toys
games
stencils and pen pots will fit in nicely here.
The trays can be used to store objects that can easily become lost or damaged – most commonly stationery
paper and worksheets - but are also useful for teachers to keep things private such as test answers. The small number of trays makes them suitable for theming contents by subject without having too many trays left over.
The unit itself is beech coloured with a rich red top and matching red trays
and features dark brown edging to make any classroom appear stylish
homely and welcoming. The unit is also mobile
and supplied with castors to allow movement between classrooms or for easily storing out of the way when not in use.
Construction
The unit is constructed using 18mm thick melamine faced chipboard (MFC)
a common material in classrooms due to its strength and durability under frequent handling. This is supplemented with a protective laminated finish and 2mm thick ABS edging tape to create a smooth edge and prevent chipping.
