Design
The design incorporates 2 fixed shelves to create 3 shelf tiers, suitable for not only books, but lever arch files, stationery, paper and more. Compared to the adjustable shelves commonly found with alternatives, fixed shelves are much more secure and will hold heavier books without any problems.
Each cupboard unit features high quality lockable doors with anti-finger trap hinges and robust, nickel-plated metal handles. With lockable doors, it is possible to limit access only to those with a key, keeping the contents protected from unauthorised use. Unsafe substances and specialist equipment such as those used in science labs can be kept safe for greater peace of mind, as well as answer sheets or stationery that is at risk of being taken without permission. The doors also hide the contents to limit distractions, and provide a protective barrier against spillages in art and science classrooms.
The unit is mobile to aid self-installation and assist staff when cleaning or rearranging classrooms. The castors are also lockable to ensure safety both when in storage and in use.
Construction
This unit is constructed using 18mm thick melamine faced chipboard (MFC); a classroom favourite that assures high-level strength and durability with frequent, heavy use. To complement this is the use of 2mm ABS edges; smooth to the touch, and as attractive as they are protective to both the user and the unit itself. In fact, ABS edges completely eliminate the risk of splinters and scratches to the skin, and protect the MFC against chipping for a full and satisfying lifespan.
