Economy Quadruple Column Tray Storage Unit - with 32 Shallow Gratnells Trays
Tray units are the ultimate solution for classroom storage and organisation. Thanks to their simple operation, durability and comforting familiarity, it is no surprise that they have become a timeless staple in classrooms across the country. This economy range of tray units uses PVC edges instead of the more common ABS, however, each one still boasts a 25 year guarantee whilst saving vast amounts of money for your school.
Design
The design consists of four columns and 32 shallow trays. The quadruple column design ensures a suitable height for primary school aged children to reach the top trays without difficulty, whereas the shallow trays provide a suitable amount of storage space for this age group. Trays can either be assigned by pupil, or teachers can use these units to organise work per subject.
A 32-tray unit is ideal for the average class size, but can be used in combination with other tray units if additional storage is required. Using multiple units together allows you to create a custom layout that suits the shape of your classroom, optimising space better than a single, less adaptable unit of the same capacity. Quadruple column units are however cheaper per tray than single, double, and triple column alternatives, providing a more economic choice for schools on a tight budget.
The unit is also mobile, and supplied with castors to allow movement between classrooms or for easily storing out of the way when not in use.
Construction
The unit is constructed using 18mm thick melamine faced chipboard (MFC), a common material in classrooms due to its strength and durability under frequent handling. This is supplemented with a protective laminated finish and PVC edging to create a smooth edge and prevent chipping. PVC is BPA free unlike the more common ABS alternative - which although more resistant to impact is considerably more expensive than PVC. In addition to this initial cost saving, the 25 year guarantee assures great value for your school in the long term, helping its tight budget go further. The MFC used in this product is FSC certified.
The supplied Gratnells trays are made from super-strong polypropylene to ensure a lifetime of use for an affordable price. Gratnells are one of the top education storage specialists in the UK, and used extensively in a majority of schools.
