Design
This bookcase has been manufactured to a height that is suitable for KS2 and KS3 children to reach. This empowers them with the responsibility of finding what they need and tidying up when they are done, or picking up a book to develop their knowledge or discover new interests of their own accord. The design consists of 5 shelf tiers, including 4 adjustable shelves to help accommodate larger items. These can be fixed securely to the desired height, resulting in greater durability for heavy objects compared to alternative shelves that simply slide on and off. The narrow design allows you to fit the bookcase into smaller spaces, especially those that are already populated with lots of other furniture. Despite this, the quantity of shelves ensures there is enough storage space for the needs of an average class. As the digital world expands and books and paper become less popular, a narrow bookcase is a sensible, long-term solution to save money whilst fulfilling modern storage needs.
With this bookcase, it is possible to store not only books, but games, toys and stationery that needs to be accessed just as frequently. The top of the unit is also suitable for storage, including décor items or large objects that don’t fit within the confines of the shelves. All items on the shelves and top of the bookcase will be quick and easy to find with a single glance, as well as within reach for all ages. The unit is constructed using 18mm thick melamine faced chipboard (MFC), a common material in classrooms due to its strength and durability under frequent handling.
