This kinderbox incorporates 6 bays on top, and 3 jumbo trays across 3 separate bays underneath to help fulfil your varied storage needs without having to buy multiple expensive, space-consuming units. Due to the number of bays, it is possible for multiple children to use the kinderbox at the same time without having to wait their turn. This speeds things up in a classroom, and encourages children to be social by discussing what they have found. Larger books, toys and games are also difficult to store elsewhere, particularly at a height that is suited to young children, making this box extremely useful in environments where play is encouraged. The child-friendly height also empowers children with greater responsibility for gathering their own resources and tidying them away, and lets them choose to read of their own accord compared to taller, less accessible book storage solutions.
The open design of the top compartments intends to draw in children with the front cover of a book – many of which are purposely designed to stimulate the imagination and encourage an interest in reading – as well as categorise contents in a way that best suits the needs of the user. It is possible to separate books into subject, genre, age range or size for example, or use each bay to store different types of item, such as toys or games. Organising in this way also makes it much easier for children to navigate, quickly and easily finding something that appeals to them with just a glance.
The jumbo Gratnells trays on the other hand are useful for items that are too bulky to store in the top compartments or for items where visibility is less of a priority, yet still need to be accessible to children. The opaque nature of the trays also makes them perfect for limiting distraction when the kinderbox is visible during learning, unlike alternative kinderboxes that use shelves. If the trays are removed, the empty storage bays can then be used for books, stationery, files, or even décor, proving this adaptable storage solution to be the best value for any school.
The unit itself is mobile with castors, so it can be stored out of the way to save space and further limit distraction when not in use.
